At the 2007 “Frontiers in Printmaking” Conference in Normal, Illinois, several Illinois State University alumni were reunited. As “the good old days” were discussed, the artists realized that they were part of a special group, which has thrived since graduation. To commemorate their amazing education at ISU they decided to create a print exchange comprised of graduate and undergraduate printmaking students who graduated between 1998-2001. “Nowhere close to Normal” was an appropriate title for this exchange to illustrate how the artists have all grown and flourished as artists, educators, and designers as well as the geographic separation of the group across the United States.

Artists include Tonia Bonnell (Denver, Colorado), Melissa Haviland (Athens, Ohio), Mike Hornyak (Los Angeles, California), Matthew Pazzol (Indianapolis and Athens, Ohio), Matt Pulford (Davenport, Iowa), Amy Schmierbach (Hays, Kansas), and Erik Waterkotte (Mankato, Minnesota.)

The exhibition at Red Delicious Press will include the portfolio and additional pieces from the artists. Reception is Friday, February 13, 2009 from 6-9 pm.
