Amy chaired and presented a paper titled “Finding Ourselves in Service Learning” at the Foundations in Art: Theory and Education conference in Portland, OR April 1-3, 2009.  

Session abstract and other panelists:
As artists and teachers we have a social responsibility to create our community. Incorporating Service Learning into our classes is one way to share this responsibility with our students. Students learn about themselves through these external interactions and are empowered to make differences in our community.
